Many people are crediting Julie K Brown of the Miami Herald for reviving and keeping the Epstein story visible in the media, and there’s a lot of truth to that.
However, if you want to understand the full scope of the Epstein saga, you have to look at the work of child victim advocate Conchita Sarnoff of the Daily Beast.
I hope Conchita has personal protection. She is scaring a lot of very powerful people. The best place to start is the latest edition of the outstanding Skullduggery Podcast: Investigating Jeffrey Epstein.
After listening to the podcast it appears that Palm Beach DA Barry Krischer is one of many prosecutors who are more culpable than Acosta. In 2011 Sarnoff and colleague Lee Aitken confronted Acosta with an internal email, which led Acosta to detail his side of his story to the The Daily Beast at that time. The story was updated in 2017 after Acosta became Secretary of Labor.
How Epstein “got off easy"
"Epstein had assembled a world-class legal team, including Alan Dershowitz, Kenneth Starr, and Roy Black (best known for having defended William Kennedy Smith against rape charges in Palm Beach.) “One member of the defense team warned me that the office’s excess zeal in forcing a good man to serve time in jail might be the subject of a book if we continued,” Acosta writes. In his view, excessive zeal more aptly described the actions in Epstein’s camp: “Defense counsel investigated individual prosecutors and their families,” seeking to unearth personal issues that might lead to disqualification of members of Acosta’s team"
Epstein’s accomplices included four women who were granted immunity in the 2006 Epstein "agreement."
